A steampunk-style stereo tube amplifier.

This piece continues a story that began two years ago with the creation of a clockwork time bomb belonging to the great and terrible Professor Moriarty. Having started down that path, I simply could not ignore the existence of his opposite, the no less great and decidedly not terrible detective Sherlock Holmes.
And once I committed to creating Holmes, it would have been entirely unfair to overlook his equally heroic companions. Even Inspector Lestrade is symbolically present here in the form of a police helmet. In fact, two of them.
And of course, the Hound of the Baskervilles is right at home here. When I was a child, long before I could read, this story was retold to me by someone just as young as I was. Back then, the idea of smearing a dog with phosphorus seemed to me the absolute peak of human genius. Some details were inevitably lost in that early retelling, but the story nonetheless left a deep and lasting impression.
